Homelessness could happen to any one of us but there is help available
Homelessness could happen to any one of us, and there are various different gradients of homelessness. There are several charities and services (local and UK wide) that will help those going through a tough stop, details can be found below:
Streetlink:
If you are concerned about someone who is sleeping rough please get in contact with StreetLink.
Shelter:
If you are homeless, Shelter can provide advice and guidance on issues relating to housing and homelessness: 0808 800 4444(8am – 8pm on weekdays, 8am – 5pm on weekends)
Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelter:
From 1st November until 31st March, Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelter will be open. If you require a bed or would like to book a place for someone you have seen sleeping rough please call the coordinator Tunde on 07739 870 411
StreetVet:Veterinary Care for Homeless People www.streetvet.co.uk
Eggs & Bread:
If you homeless or are struggling to make ends meet Eggs and Bread, Wood Street welcomes anyone to come and start the day with breakfast for a small donation or free, depending on what you can afford to give. They are open 7am – 11am on weekdays, and 8am – 12pm on weekends.
