Every evening our team of volunteers cook a 3 course meal from donated food and shared it with those in need in Walthamstow, London, E17. The meals are cooked, packaged and loaded into our bespoke catering van. We then drive round the corner to the top of Walthamstow Market to share.
Each night we feed between 30 – 50 people from all walks of life. Because we care.
“My story with Christian Kitchen started with my husband passing away suddenly and unexpectedly. The State Pension stops, DWP say no benefits or work coach for 5 weeks, and I’m out of everything.
I googled for help – up comes Christian Kitchen. The listing says: 3 course hot meals. 7 days a week. 365 days a year. For those in need. When I arrive, they give me tea & biscuits, then hot soup, spaghetti bolognese, rolls, cake, and chocolate.
Every night of the year, they give a hot meal to anyone who asks and is in need. What would happen to really desperate people without them? All the workers are volunteers, and give their time freely to help others. I really can’t speak highly enough of Christian Kitchen.”

How you can help
Volunteer
As we deliver our meals 7 days-a-week, 365 days-a-year our well-organised teams are often in search of more help. Roles include cooks, van drivers and out-reach workers. Find out more about these roles and what volunteering with us involves.
Because we cook with your food donations every day, we can accept fresh produce alongside the more commonly donated tinned and dried goods. Learn about the food we can accept and the regular food swops we participate in to create a healthy, balanced 3-course meal every day.
As a charity, fundraising is a vital to our success. Perhaps you would like to organise an event for your school or scout group or want to participate as an individual in a sponsored event. Why not get in touch and tell us what you are up to and we can let you know the best way to deliver any money raised.
